It doesn’t really make sense they call it morning sickness because you can get it at any point during the day. It usually last the first trimester, but some woman have it through out the pregnancy.

I never had it, but my friend did and no one really knows WHY they call it ‘morning’ sickness, as it doesn’t always happen/end in the morning. It can last ALL day or it can happen at night.

It’s unknown why it is called Morning Sickness, since it can happen in the morning, afternoon, night and even overnight, it can even happen from wakeup to bed time. This is why I prefer to call it Pregnancy Sickness. It can start early and last a few weeks, start late and last a while, it can last your entire pregnancy, and some women don’t even get it at all. Most commonly, it ends at the end of the first trimester or the beginning to mid second trimester. It is also unknown why it hits. There are many theories, from the hormones going through your body to a signal in your brain. No matter what time of day it hits, there are some things you can do. -Sea Bands. You can get them at a pharmacy. They’re small elastic-like wrist bands that apply pressure to acupuncture points in your wrists and help to minimize or even get rid of the sickness altogether. -Ginger. Eating, or even smelling, fresh ginger has been known to help with nausea. -Eat bland. Rice cakes, bread, plain potatoes, apple

The name morning sickness is misleading. It can last all day in some women or just during a certain part of the day wether it be morning, afternoon, or night. I had morning sickness all day long. I started having morning sickness around 10 weeks and it lasted until the middle of my second trimester.
