More sub headings are probably a good idea. Could it also work to simply make the key words bold?
No! Don’t do that! It’s extremely distracting. Consider making headings bold, but not words within a paragraph. My general suggestion would be that you need to start with an outline for your article. There isn’t a discernible structure. Use those as your headings. Consider collaborating directly with another person who has experience in professional writing. There are many members of this site who would be happy to help as a co-author or editor, myself included.
