More specifically should I bring my laptop to Defcon?
It really depends on what you’re going to do with it. There’s always the chance that it may get 0wned. Don’t bring your laptop just to have it, for a lot of people it ends up just taking space in their luggage. If you have a specific need for it, then sure, bring it. But don’t sit on your laptop all day, you can do that shit at home. You have the chance to get out and make some friends and meet some new and interesting people. If you do that, you’ll probably learn more in three days then you will all year sitting online.
