Morality Question: Are you For or Against P.C. “Sexual Harassment” laws at work ???
I’m for them. But, I also know that they can be taken too far, if they don’t have the right safeguards built in. I have had women try to pin sexual harrassment claims on me: specifically 2 who were radical right-wing fundamentalists, who hated the fact that I was gay, and that they were the only ones who had a problem with it. Since they couldn’t get me fired for being gay, they made up lies about me, in their Good Christian Fundamentalist way, and tried to get me into trouble that way. Luckily for me, my boss (who was also a fundamentalist, ironically, but not a radical republican one) knew what they were up to and supported me fully. I’ve also had male friends who themselves were harrassed via too-loose, overly politically correct sexual harassment laws. It seems that sometimes there are so many loopholes in these laws, that anybody with an ax to grind against a co-worker can invoke the “harrassment” or “hostile work environment” plea and get innocent people fired.
