Montana State University is a state supported school, why does it need private support?
MSU is merely state-assisted rather than state supported and increasing demands from other agencies are making it harder for state universities to receive their much needed share of tax dollars. State and federal appropriations constitute a portion of the university’s income. The remainder comes from other sources including tuition and fees assessed to the students, and gifts from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations.
