Modifying Medications: Can I modify medications on the eMAR?
No. All medication modification must be completed by the Pharmacy. To communicate needs for any modifications, right-click on the medication name, and select Med Request, then enter free text information for the Pharmacy. This is the preferred method. Alternatively, Pharmacy can still be contacted by phone to modify a medication. So, while you cannot modify the medication details – dose, route, start date/time etc., you may modify the charting details – date/time, diluent, site, volume, etc. UHospital and 5 West locations use the following computerized process: Right click on the medication name, select Med Request and enter data into the dropdown box and/or the free text field to activate the OK button.
