What I can’t understand is why you went for a package that was going to cost that much more in the first place. Is the contract a 12 month or 18 month one? Normally you will have to fulfill the requirements of the contract but if you can prove that Carphone Warehouse advised you incorrectly, go back to them and see if they will sort something out. My one and only experience of Carphone Warehouse was also when I was looking to upgrade, At the time the phone I had took a full size sim card (Yes! it was a while ago) and they said to make it fit I could cut it down in size!! Needless to say I went elsewhere and was sent a new sim card which retained my number.
