Mini Hip Replacement – Is It As Good? Saturday June 12, 2004A new technique in orthopedics is called a minimally invasive hip replacement. This ‘mini hip replacement’ uses two small incisions, and x-ray to guide the artificial hip implant into proper position. While many patients find the idea of a smaller scar and shorter recovery quite appealing, some surgeons feel the mini hip replacements are simply not as good as a traditional hip replacement.
