If you have Visual Fortran 6.1, it includes shared components from Microsoft Visual Studio 98 Service Pack 3. If you do not also have installed Visual Studio products from Microsoft, such as Visual C/C++ or Visual BASIC, you cannot separately install VS98 SP4 or SP5 from Microsoft. If you do have Microsoft Visual Studio products and wish to install VS98 SP5, you may also need to install the Visual Fortran SP4FIX to work around an incompatible change Microsoft made in VS98 SP4 (and SP5). See Knowledge Base article Q1036 for details.
