Media Player complaints about codecs. What does this mean?

0

CODECs are special drivers that Media Player uses to decode and play video and audio. Usually, when you attempt to play a video or audio file that requires a CODEC not installed on your system, Media Player automatically downloads the CODEC and installs it. However, there are times when this process does not work automatically. StudStream requires the Windows Media 7 CODECs (both video and audio). These CODECs are loaded automatically when you install Media Player 7. If you use Media Player 6.4, it should automatically download the CODECs when you attempt to play a video/audio. If for any reason your system fails to automatically download and install the WM 7 CODECs, you can download them manually from the Microsoft web site. Once you download the file, double-click on it to install it, and follow the instructions.
