Maybe a dumb question, but if the Stocktables filter is for stocks with EPS rank >80, how does a stock with a negative EPS appear on the list in the first place?
Stocktables.com divides all stocks traded on the AMEX, NASDAQ & NYSE into percentiles and ranks them accordingly from 1 to 99. They do not use an actual EPS number. Instead,Stocktables.com compares all actual EPS numbers to each other, and the rankings indicate how the equities relate to one another. As a result, a stock with a slightly negative actual EPS may still find itself ranked in the top 20 percentile.
