Yes. But the “Make my Day” law is a poor way of describing what is known as the “Castle Doctrine”. And I believe Texas has that law as well. BTW, gomanyeyes your anti-gun buddies are the one that came up with the “Make my day” name in the first place! As an additional counterpoint to gomanyeyes, who isn’t really fond of people owning guns. Texas and Oklahoma are known as “Shall issue” states. Persons who apply, pass the training and pass a background check must be issued a permit if they have applied to get one. A few States like NY and California are known as “May issue” where you have to prove that you have a real need for a CCW permit or are a celebrity. Basically, ordinary people that feel the need to be armed in their self-defense need not apply.
