May teachers obtain ESOL certification by passing the ESOL test?
Passing the ESOL test is the first step toward certification. In addition to passing the ESOL test, a teacher must apply to the state to have the coverage added to their teaching certificate and obtain 120 ESOL in-service hours within a three-year period of the date of receipt of the certification. Additional information regarding ESOL certification may be obtained from the Human Resources Department, Office of Certification.
