May I transfer MileagePlus miles without knowing the recipients MileagePlus account number and e-mail address?
No. For security and auditing purposes, we require that you provide both the e-mail address and MileagePlus account number of any individual to whom you are transferring your MileagePlus miles. Both you and the recipient will receive e-mail notifications of your transfer, listing you as the person who transferred the miles. When you provide the e-mail address of an individual to whom you are transferring your MileagePlus miles, MileagePlus will send an e-mail to that individual that will include information about the transferred miles along with your name, e-mail address and you grant to MileagePlus or its agents consent to use your name and e-mail address for the purpose of sending such e-mail to the individual to whom you are transferring your MileagePlus miles.
