May I meet with the indemnitor at the jail to write the bail bond paperwork?
I disagree with answer #1. The question is:
May I meet with the indemnitor at the jail to write the bail bond paperwork?
If you are a licensed bail bonds agent, you may meet with the indemnitor at the jail. Actually, this is very common since a lot of bail bonds agents do business at various jails and most indemnitors normally like to come to the jails to finish up paperwork and then wait on the defendant’s release.
Normally a bail bonds agent, say a Santa Clarita Bail Bonds agent, since that’s who we are, get’s a call from a mother, father, grandmother, girlfriend, or wife. Usually the first thing the bail bonds agent asks is, "Are you going to sign for the defendant?"
If they say "yes", then they become the indemnitor and paperwork ensues. The bail bonds agent usually faxes the information over to the indemnitor, they sign and fax back. But if the indemnitor doesn’t have fax or email, they usually meet at the jail to finish up the paperwork.
So, having a bail bonds Santa Clarita can be handled fairly easily and as you can tell from the experience of our bail bonds agents, all paperwork can be done at the Santa Clarita jail or whatever jail the defendant is being held at.
