May I make additional principal payments on my CalHFA loan(s)?

Yes, you may prepay your principal at anytime without penalty. Principal payments on your first loan must be made with a regular monthly payment and the additional principal must be clearly identified on your coupon or your payment. Principal payments in excess of two times your regular monthly payment must be made in certified funds (money order or certified check). Principal payments on subordinate loans of over $1,000.00 must be in certified funds. Payments including principal payments not meeting these conditions will be returned.
