No, unless the Appointing Authority requests & receives approval in advance for an exception through the ad hoc CDL Review Committee. The request must include a detailed reason(s) why an exception is required, the medical examiner’s certification, the type/size/frequency of the equipment operated and a statement ensuring that the employee will not be allowed to operate any equipment requiring a CDL.
