Not necessarily; the purpose of funeral leave is to support, not reward, employees. CS Rules provide that employees may be granted time off without loss of pay, annual leave, or sick leave, when attending the funeral services; however, if the employee was on holiday leave or otherwise not scheduled to be at work (weekend or regularly scheduled day off), there’s no work to be off from.
