May a team or individual come early and practice on the lanes they are scheduled for league play?
WIBC/ABC/YABA do not have a rule which prohibits practice games before a league play. If a league wanted to adopt a rule, the proprietor would have to be consulted first. The league has no jurisdiction until the scheduled time to bowl, and such a rule may be an infringement on the proprietor’s rights as an independent business person. In a match point league, if two opposing teams have an absent member, and one absent member shows up to bowl games two and three, does the captain change the lineup by placing the bowler in a position where the player would have bowled if present for the first game? No, the lineup would stay the same. The player bowling games two and three would bowl in the position where the absentee score had been used for game one. Rule 101g states no lineup change may be made during a series, except as provided in the last paragraph of the rule, unless league rules state differently.
