Section 113 of the federal Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act, FACTA, requires that only the last five digits of a credit card account number can be printed on electronically printed receipts provided to a customer (patient). The requirement does not apply to handwritten receipts or receipts imprinted with a copy of the credit card. The same requirement is also in Ohio law at ORC Section 1349.18. A separate section of Ohio law, ORC Section 1329.
