None whatsoever. I am grateful to Chris Wahlers for pointing out that Ed Marlo published an item called ‘Sense of Touch’ in the Feb 1945 edition of The Phoenix, which was republished in The Cardician. In essence, it involved giving red and black cards subtle bends in opposite ways so they could be differentiated by touch. This is a perfectly fine piece of Marlo ingenuity, but it’s fair to say this particular methodology would not withstand allowing spectators to impose any conditions they want. After all, they might exercise their right to check the cards have no bends in them! See what I mean? In short, Marlo’s item has nothing to do with my Sense of Touch principle.
