Many universities offer degrees in aeronautical engineering and aerospace systems. How can I decide which university to go to?
The number of aerospace related degree programmes delivered by universities in the UK has mushroomed over the last few years. Many are of an excellent standard, but the various professional bodies that represent engineers set the benchmarks for these standards. You should find out whether the degrees run by the university you are looking at are accredited; if they are not you may find your employment options are limited. The aeronautical engineering programme at Glasgow is accredited by both the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, while the aerospace systems programme is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society.
