Many residents are concerned about the rapid rate subdivisions are being built in Milton. Do you feel anything needs to change about the way the town is developing?
Yes. Milton Council needs to formally communicate to the Region of Halton, the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada its disappointment with their collective performance in providing capital infrastructure monies that were committed to our community in 1993 when Milton began planning for growth. Council needs to further enunciate what is required financially, moving forward, to properly support future growth estimates for Milton mandated by the Province and current immigration estimates mandated by the Federal Government. It is critical that our new residential and commercial growth be managed properly. The proper plans are in place. The execution of those plans has been inconsistent – and almost exclusively in the area of construction of Region of Halton-owned arterial roads that service our community’s new residential subdivisions. The Town of Milton needs to press the Region much harder on the need to invest in our community in a timely fashion, particularly as it pertain
