The competencies and roles clearly define performance expectations. They provide a clearer roadmap for both employees and supervisors. That will make it easier for supervisors to evaluate performance, for employees to know what the expectations are, and for the planning unit head to hold the supervisors accountable. There is no merit component for classified staff for 2001 or 2002. Classified staff will receive across-the-board increases this year and next. Wages for 2003 have not been considered nor determined at this time. The university will evaluate the success of the IT performance management program and continue to research before addressing the issue of a classified pay delivery system.
