Managing moorland is an important part of land management in the countryside, how would this be funded without revenue from shooting?
Any form of land management will have an impact on the resident flora and fauna. If the land is managed to maximize the numbers of live animal targets for sport, other resident species numbers will suffer as a consequence. The rotational planting and felling of small blocks of species diverse forestry will provide a more biologically diverse flora and fauna in the area and will at the same time generate more local employment and more supporting industry and infrastructure.
