The mote isn’t powered by its own supply or via the adapter connected to the programming board. Even though the light on the programming board is on, you may not have the necessary power supply to program and verify the mote successfully. You can check for this if the red LED on the programming board is flashing durning the “Uploading: flash” state of the “make install” target.
