You’re really gonna like this because, NO, there’s very little work involved. A diagnostic panel simplifies matters by indicating that the heater flow switch is firing properly, a first for flow fired heaters. Required maintenance is limited to replacing only 2 different items – the flow switch (a 15 minute job maybe every 5 years, and can be done with the heater still in the van), and replacing the thermostat (another 10 minute job that can be done in the van), maybe every 3 years or so. The jets do not need to be cleaned except for every 7 years. The other parts of the heater should last for many years before they’ll need replacement. Even then, it can all be done with a minimal amount of wrench experience.
