(VT) With the perennial version of Blue Sage, such as May Night, trimming back the plant 5-7 inches right when the flowers have faded promotes dense growth. It also increased to possibility of a second set of blooms at the end of the summer or in the fall. One could try pinching off the flowers spikes but it probably would not have the same effect.
