Local authority licences have worked well in the past. Why change them?
A. The standard of local authority schemes varies across the country – some good, some not so good, some not at all. Some of the very best local authority schemes have difficulties -monitoring training standards, updating & checking criminality, and suspending/revoking licences. The SIA is transforming the security industry, taking it from a largely unregulated business and making it legitimate right across the board. An SIA national licence is a symbol of quality and competency that the public can trust.
