Lip augmentation – How painful are filler lip injections?
If you opt for long term lip enhancement like restylane or juvederm , you will need to be injected so that your lips look enhanced. It may be painful as there may be swelling or bruising for sometime after the process. However, if you are going for lip enhancement for the first time and are not sure of your looks after the treatment, you can always go for lips plumper. This is not even painful and will also give results without any swelling.
Juvederm or Restylane to the lips are painful if you do not get adequate anesthesia. Some people can manage without getting numb but lips are quite sensitive. I usually do nerve blocks (like the dentists use, they are the best at it) to numb the lips. Once the lip is completely numb, I do the injection. Next time, ask for nerve block. But remember that most injectors whether physician, RN or PA are not trained and do not know how to give a nerve block in the mouth.
