Lincoln Navigator EGR Valve. Location and Directions needed!?

0

I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator displaying error code P401. EGR problem. I wanted to just replace the valve but I can’t find it. I have been unable to locate any pictures or directions on how to replace it online. Hopefully you all can help me. In the manual it displays a picture of a different engine than the one that I have (I have a 5.4l). Any input or steps in the right direction will be greatly appreciated, thanks! A: OK, First of all, don’t change the EGR valve…. this code is 99.99% percent of the time caused by the DPFE sensor that controls the egr valve operation…. The DPFE sensor is located on the backside of the intake, and really isn’t that tough to change, and alot cheaper…. You probably have to go to a dealer to get the DPFE sensor,Ford part basic number 9j460, and it is about 100 bucks or so… And I bet you have lost about 2-3 mpg since the light was on right?

What is your question?
