life beyond earth… does it exist?
Life is way too tenacious to not be in abundance. I’m thinking of the extremophiles in boiling springs and under a rock in the middle of an arid desert. Another question is intelligent life and contact… intelligent life may not survive the creation of it’s own technologies and the time and distances may argue against contact any time soon. Or, there may be rich trade routes out there full of billions of known races and we are quarantined inside a clever hologram until we grow up. Anyway, I think that we will eventually find alien life in our own solar system and, if we get off this planet and survive, we will find it out there somewhere with just normal distribution indicating a large number of ‘smarter’ creatures. I cannot even for a moment seriously entertain the notion that we are it –the smartest and most advanced thing going — on one little ocean planet going around a very average sun in a very average galaxy–which itself, is just one of billions of galaxies in our known univ
