LG Optimus One En Route to T-Mobile, Does UMA WiFi Calling?

It appears as if Verizon won’t be the only US carrier getting its hands on the LG Optimus One, as a genuine-looking slide has just appeared suggesting that the device is also headed to T-Mobile as simply the LG Optimus. What’s more, the leaked image appears to indicate that this handset will be the first Android phone to be UMA-compliant, meaning that it can seamlessly transition between cellular and free WiFi-based calls. So far only a handful of featurephones, BlackBerries, and Windows Phone-powered models have been endowed with this money-saving capability. Besides the benefits of WLAN telephony, the Optimus One looks like it will see few changes in its transformation to LG Optimus: it appears to sport the same 600MHz processor, 3.2-inch HVGA display, 3.2-megapixel camera, and the entire suite of Google applications, assuming that the “with Google” branding is accurate. Android lovers have been looking forward to UMA for some time now, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on developments
