Laserdisc is always compared to DVD. What are Laserdiscs advantages over DVD?
A. Laserdiscs’ biggest advantage is that it has been around for more than 20 years. No one knows exactly how many titles have been released on Laserdisc throughout the years. However, even with the decline of Laserdiscs, there are still thousands in print right now. Countless others have gone out of print but are still available to buy used. Currently, popular film series like the Indiana Jones trilogy and the Star Wars trilogy are not available on DVD. Also, Laserdisc is very popular in Asia, particularly Japan.
