Las Vegas – is the building site next to the Jockey Club – opposite Planet Hollywood finished yet?
The resort that “embraces” the Jockey club (i.e. wraps around it on three sides is called the “Grand Hyatt Las Vegas at The Cosmopolitan” and is 3000 rooms scheduled to be completed th quarter next year. The project is in and out of bankruptcy but the recent infusion of money from Hyatt means it will be completed on schedule. ============ The “City Center” mega resort next door is also scheduled to be completed at around the same time. This will consist of four hotels (condos, residences). ARIA Resort & Casino 4,004 Mandarin Oriental 400 The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences 400 Vdara Condo Hotel 1,543 ============ In a different location on the strip, the 4000 room, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is schedules to open also around the same time. ============ The simultaneous opening of these three resorts with 13,000 rooms coupled with the massive drop in gambling revenue has put all of the other projects on hold.
