Lack of energy when working out in the morning?

Make sure you have 8+ hours of sleep before your morning workout. Try setting aside 30 minutes before working out and some tea or a glass of juice to give you a bit of a jump start. No coffee. It will just make you more thirsty during your workout and go to the bathroom. I would advise against caffeine, it’s just false energy. Eating before sleeping will not help with weight loss OR your morning workout! If you really can’t do it any more, maybe it’s just not right for you. I always have the most energy right before bed.

When I work out in the morning a drink at least a 16oz cup of coffee. It helps. Some people just have the energy in the morning and others don’t. You can eat in the morning. When I do long runs (14mi+) in the morning I always do an english muffin with peanut butter. You need the energy. Everybody’s body reacts differently though. good luck. Stick it out a couple more weeks. See if your body adapts.

The reason you feel weak and fatigued in the morning is that your primary fuel source (blood sugar) drops through out the night. This means you only have a limited amount of readily available energy to fuel those muscles. On top of that if you aren’t eating enough carbohydrates through out the day muscle glycogen (carbohydrate that fuels the muscles) stores are likely to be low exentuating the heavy lethargic of feeling. It is actually because of this that weight loss training in the morning is recommended due to the body having to resort to fat as a fuel source.(and ultimately more undesired fat being burnt). But it inefficient and will make you feel tiered and heavy. However if you aren’t actually looking to burn fat and are more concerned about fitness or muscle development you can try two things that will help (although not completely as blood sugar drop is inevitable through out the night). 1. Eat a high fiber complex carbohydrate meal with some form of protein about an hour befor
