speedtouch-1.0.tar.gz, the one released from Alcatel, has a debug flag (DEBUG_PACKET) on. If you disable this (just comment it out), it will use a LOT less CPU. You should really download a more recent version. kSpeedSARd was removed in version 1.6 of the kernel module.
