K&N verses BMC?!
Which one’s best?…………much like the ‘what tyre is best’ debate you’ll probably get a different answer every time you ask someone different! To date more forum members have fitted K&Ns than BMCs but that’s most likely down to local availability and or past personal experiences. For this very reason I fitted a K&N in the end having always been pleased with the quality and performance of various K & N filters I’ve used in the past. To date I’m not aware that anyone has done back to back dyno testing of a K&N against a BMC (if you know different please let me know) – such a test may not provide a definitive answer in any case as I suspect that different results may be had depending on the state of modification / types of mods made to the test bike. At the end of the day I was more than happy with the results after the ECU had been tuned to take account of the improved airflow (together with other existing mods to the bike) by James at JHS Racing (ECU re-mapping by Teka and dyno runs
