King Leopold II of Belgium??
Try wickipedia. For us Belgians, Leopold II is the less beloved king. He himself found the Belgians a little people that could not follow his ideas of greatness (he wanted a colony, Belgium not). With the fortune, he gained of Congo he made of Brussels a beautiful city with big lanes, huge monuments (f.e. the Cinquentanaire (build to celebrate 50 year of Belgium). When he died few people feld sorry for him. In his old age he loved to live in Paris more than in his own land. An exemple of attitude of the king. When he died, he put all his properties (castles, woods, …) into a fundation where the Royal family can make use of it but does not own it (so they could not sell anything what he “gained”.
