Keyboard Crunch: Are New Apple Keyboards Getting Smaller?
Engadget got a peek at Apple’s FCC filing for two new products. The filings suggest a new wireless Bluetooth mouse, possibly replacing the existing Mighty Mouse, and a new wireless keyboard. The new mouse design moves from the oval shape of the Mighty Mouse back to a more traditional rounded rectangle design. The new keyboard looks very much the same in outline as the previous wireless Mac keyboard, but is smaller overall. Since the drawings submitted to the FCC are minimal, it’s difficult to tell how cramped the keyboard may be, or if any keys have been removed to allow the overall size of the keyboard to shrink further. I guess we will find out soon, because any new keyboard and mice are likely to be part of any new iMac or Mac mini announcement. Personally, I’ll be hanging on to my wide format keyboard. My fingers and thumbs are too big for these petite offerings.
