Kathrine, no offense, but why is a graduate student teaching an upper-level English class?
Technological knowledge is inversely proportional to age! Seriously, a Ph.D. student in the English Department developed this course about five years ago, and Ph.D. students have been teaching it ever since, largely because there is no faculty member in the department comfortable enough with the material, and has a small enough course load to teach it. It’s the same scenario as when you set up a computer for your parents. By the way, the rule implies that you know more about technology matters than I do, and it’s probably true on a number of fronts. I hope to learn from you at the same time you’re learning from me. We should understand that in some areas of knowledge, this is the way things go.
