Basically, these terms are synonymous. Employee leasing, worker leasing, etc. is an alternative for employers to manage the administrative functions of their workers. Client companies enter into a contract with the Professional Employer Organization to hire their workforce. These may either be newly hired employees or longstanding personnel. This outsourcing of business & human resources process often eliminates the entire personnel department of an organization. The employee leasing company then takes on the responsibility of the payroll, employment taxes, workers compensation & risk management, and employee benefits.
