Just curious, whats the Tea Party stance on Quran burning?
The Tea Party isn’t a centralized organization that issues official policy positions on issues like this. I consider myself to be a Tea Party type person though. My personal thoughts are as follows. I think the pastor probably has a legal right to do it. I think it is in poor taste and no good is likely to come from such an action. I think the pastor and his supporters are a very small, fringe group getting much more publicity than they deserve. I think it is interesting and telling that the response of many Muslims around the world is not to just verbally condemn the action and ask people to pray for this misguided pastor, but rather to riot and threaten violence. One caveat on that is that a large percentage of Muslims around the world aren’t well educated and don’t have access to reliable, unbiased news sources so their response may be ill-informed.
Sarah Palin already came out against it as did everyone in the tea party that has been asked. I am not the tea party but I tried to burn my copy of the quran but it woudn’t burn… I should have let it dry out from being soaked in a jar of pig urine. Oh well, I just dropped it back in the jar again.
