Joan never has been much of a drinker. How can she have liver cancer?
Many people we know have spilled more booze than Joan has consumed in her whole life. But the liver cancer that is associated with drinking is hepatocellular (cancer of the liver cells), whereas Joan’s cancer is one that started elsewhere and invaded the liver.
