Jews, Christians: what does it mean that G-d loves obedience rather than sacrifice?

I believe Judaism is reflective of this thought and why it’s somewhat contradictory to Christianity. Judaism teaches responsibility – taking responsibility when you mess up, making amends to those you’ve harmed and to the G-d. They can’t understand how Jesus could have taken on the entire sins of the world and all future generations and be sacrificed for it. That doesn’t make sense in Judaism. Being obedient, making amends and doing good is the sacrifice that G-d accepts, not a human death according to Judaism.

heres another interesting verse. Hosea 6:6 ” For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of G-d rather than burnt-offerings.” Sacrifices are only of value inasmuch as it facilitates repentance.
