Jehovah’s Witnesses do not accept any human prophet since the completion of the bible in the first century C.E. They believe that God’s Word the Bible is his only infallible means of communicating doctrine to humans. They believe that Christ Jesus is the only head of the congregation. (Colossians 1:18) he is the head of the body, the congregation Jehovah’s Witnesses are untroubled by a few obsolete beliefs and guesses at dates from 75, 100, or 125 years ago. Even when dates were suggested in their publications, it was always clearly presented as an idea, a suggestion, a possibility, a hopeful thing, and not as a certainty. Witness publications have NEVER, not even in the 1870’s, NEVER claimed to be inspired by God. Jehovah’s Witnesses have consistently pointed to the Scriptures as the only source for accurate prophecy about the future. Many of us unknowingly follow false prophets from time to time. We are like “sheep without a shepherd”. Don’t throw stones. “God knows who are His.” It is true that there is much deception in that religion. Their is much deception in every religion I have ever studied. Jesus is the Truth. Follow Him. What really is the definition of a false prophet? You quoted Deuteronomy 18 in part, but it would be beneficial to quote Deuteronomy 18:14-22 in context. Beginning with verse 14, we see that God is speaking quite specifically about the future prophet that he will send to the nation of Israel. Verse 18 specifically says “a prophet I shall raise up for [them] from the midst of [their] brothers. Verse 19 says the man who will not listen to this prophet will be held accountable to God. Verse 20 says the prophet who presumes to speak in the name of God a word that God did not command must die. Now if one wants to apply this scripture generally to every single prophet (and not as it relates to the future Messiah), then such an application of this scripture to the prophet Nathan would lead to the conclusion that Nathan should have been put to death.
