Yes. The BC4J Generation capability and the Designer Workarea Connection both access meta-data in the Designer repository. Will Oracle9i Designer functionality be added to Oracle9i JDeveloper? Yes. Oracle9i JDeveloper is going to support some Designer functionality. This work will be done in stages. The strategy is to take all the best ideas from Designer and re-engineer them for J2EE within the context of a single IDE while fully adhering to the UML standards that have become the lingua franca of the modeling world. The first of these projects is the Database Modeling profile, and the two-way transformation of class models to Java and EJB design models.
