Ive seen anchor retrieval systems before that use cable ties. Is AnchorRescue any different?

Yes. AnchorRescue only uses the cable ties to take the slack out of the tether and to keep the slider from rotating around the rode. The cable ties in no way impact your anchor/rode connection. The other systems use the cable ties to attach the rode to the shank end of the anchor. When the cable tie breaks, the pull of the rode is transferred to the crown. With these other systems, the only thing keeping your anchor set is the cable tie. AnchorRescue never jeopardizes your anchor/rode connection and cannot trip your anchor until you send the retriever down.
