It was first thought that this long-rumored-to-be-released CD was never going to be released. However, John’s first manager, Tony DeFries, who owns the rights to John’s first two albums, Chestnut Street Incident and The Kid Inside released the 2-CD set in April, 2000. (John has no involvement in this release) Skin it Back is a compilation of most of the material from Chestnut Street Incident and The Kid Inside, in addition to outtakes and rarities. This is the 4th time Mr. DeFries has released these two albums in different packaging.
