Allergy drops, also known as Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT), may be new to Indianapolis, but is not new. It was first used in 1910, and has been widely used in Europe for over 60 years. In fact, 75% of all immunotherapy patients in Western Europe get drops, not shots. In England, it is the only way immunotherapy is given. Even the World Health Organization has endorsed sublingual immunotherapy as a viable alternative to injection therapy.
